ACEO Introduces New Electrically Conductive Silicone 3D Printing Materials
- Nov 17, 2018 -

WACKER's silicone-branded ACEO was developed in 2016, at the same time that the company announced it had created the first industrial 3D printer for silicone.Since then, ACEO has made steady progress in the development of silicone 3D printing materials, introduced multi-material silicon 3D printing technology, and opened a silicon 3D printing laboratory in the United States. Now ACEO has announced a new invention: an electrically conductive silicone elastomer.

Silicone is widely used in fields requiring electrical conductivity, such as actuators, sensors, generators, heating elements, and advanced applications such as cold plasmas or printed electronic devices. 3D printing allows you to create integration functionality in one step, as well as complex structures that other production technologies cannot implement.

A conductive elastomer was developed by Wacker Chemie AG after the discovery of the need for a new type of high-temperature conductive material. This new material should open up a wide range of new applications, especially in healthcare, but also in the automotive and other industries. It's impressive that silicone 3D printing materials have had a lot of development - just a few years ago. It's almost unheard of to use any type of silicone for 3D printing, but now the technology has evolved to the point where manufacturers can use a variety of silicones for 3D printing.
